Innocence

Innocence

The healthy bloom in her cheeks gave her an aura of innocence,

The way she touched, talked gave nothing of impurity,

She was a novice to dark rooms, and she never held a secret,

Her eyes, oh her eyes, bright with curiosity,

She had no clue just how seductive she could be,

She was a hearty meal on a vampire’s plate,

A prey to many, but to her it had to be fate,

She held a treasure, few possess,

And though she hardly saw it that way,

I hoped she did nothing she would later regret

And carelessly give her innocence away,
